Here and there

Photobucket

My photos are a bit scattered, but I have not been up to much besides watching the World Cup with my pal Radioactive man. As you can see, he is a Spaniard.

The Fans at The Montalban theater just keep getting wilder and wilder. When Spain finally scored against Germany these guys couldn't stop making it rain beer.

Photobucket

That's what happens when you have an open bar.

4th of July, I just skated around and didn't play with any fireworks, not even a damn sparkly stick.

Now, the best part of my last couple of weeks was hands down seeing Carte Blanche at the Roxy.

Photobucket

Cigarro , Mary-Juana, and Jiffay (aka John) were my company for the night. The drunk girls were in full effect . Day makeame laff! *Italian accent*

But holly jumping elephants Batman! What was this!? DESTRUCTO played a set which I ACTUALLY cared to listen to all the way through? Spinning vinyl, playing house joints with a pinch of Thomas Bangalter? Thumbs up Mr. Gary Richards.

My original plan for that night was to make a giant size version of this playing card but I couldn't get the right paper I needed.

Photobucket

So I scrapped that plan and found a roll of plastic sheet my family uses during Thanksgiving and Christmas to cover the table. It was light and I had enough of it to make a pretty large banner using sharpies. A day and a half later of getting high with permanent marker fumes and..............

QUE LA CHINGADA MADRE,THEY LOVED IT! Ricky and I held up the banner in the middle of the dance floor as soon as they dropped Gare Du Nord. Riton looked up and his mouth just dropped, wide eyed and all. Immediately, he turns to Mehdi and points it out. Everyone at the club was like " How the hell did he get that big ass thing in here?".

Mehdi walked over to me and asked for it, there it remained for the rest of the show.By the end of the night, Riton and Mehdi were drunk, hugging each other on stage, dancing to the last songs in their sets, and slapping hands with the crowd. The gig had come to a close, even with an encore song and some white lady flashing everyone her ass, it could not last forever. My friends and I had fun, we were tired and before we headed home I said goodbye to Mehdi. He shook my hand, thanked me for the gift and kissed me on my head.

Photobucket

I did not know if he would actually take it with him but just seeing it up on stage was enough for me. The next day I hit up Michael and told him the story. He e-mailed Mehdi about it and later told me that Mehdi had kept it,he even gave me a shout out on his blog.

It's great to see that some artist actually give a rats ass about their fans. I have met a number of actors, musicians and djs who are just straight up dicks. Fortunately, everyone who I have met from the ED BANGER family is mad cool, So-Me, Busy P, Gaspeezy, FAFI, BREAKBOT, Michael.

I remember the first time I met FAFI, it was hilarious. It was also the first time I ran into Mehdi. I ended up in his dressing room eating his food while he slept on the couch. You can see that post here.

In order to commemorate Carte Blanche, I made this video composed of my own footage and clips of people/things dancing to "Gare Du Nord".

Photobucket

Yesterday we took a trip to downtown for the art-walk.

Photobucket

As soon as we exited the metro there was a hill of goats waiting for us.

Photobucket

Photobucket

It's been a while since any of us where in downtown and we felt like tourist in our own city.

Photobucket

The art-walk was tits, way to much too see.
